Calendar (2002 (XP))

I know I'm probably out of my league on this one but I have a nice little db and it uses dates in many of the fields. I would like the user to be able to select the dates by using a pop up calendar rather than typing the dates in. Is there a way to do that and if so how?

Hi Ed,

Have you tried searching on the Lounge? You'll find literally dozens of discussions on using Microsoft's ActiveX (OCX) Calendar Control.

Also, I came across a similar calendar that runs in a standard Access form a few years back. It prevents having to include an extra file for apps that you plan to distribute.
You can find it at <post#=15613>post 15613</post#>.

Hope this helps!

Do you know if there is something similar for selecting time?

Hi Ed,

Have you tried searching? Just click the Search link on the menu bar at the top of any Lounge page...

I remembered reading a long thread that addressed this issue and I believe <!profile=Rupert>Rupert<!/profile> is the one who posted an attachment with the kind of time picker you're looking for. The thread starts with <post#=143322>post 143322</post#>

Hi Ed,

I'm glad to hear that it worked for you. I did not mean to sound rude with my comment about searching. I agree that it's difficult to narrow the search down sometimes.

One thing that you will find here is that the Help files are great (unlike some you'll find from Microsoft...). Click the HELP link on the Search page to get a description of how to use the Lounge's search features. Also, be sure to search only the forum that relates to your search criteria. You'll get specific results much quicker that way!
Don't forget to use multiple words to narrow the search (using And or Or operators).

I must admit that both of my previous replies in this thread referred to posts that I remembered reading. I didn't just pull them out of thin air... (although I did have to look a little to dig them up).

I hope this is helpful information for you. If you have any more questions regarding using the Lounge's features, please stop by the Lounge Matters forum. You'll find plenty of folks there to answer all of your questions.

Happy Lounging!
