Transfer Wizard: OE to Outlook 2002 (2002)

Oh help oh help! I've been on the phone ALL DAY LONG with friggin' Dell and they can't or won't answer a SIMPLE question! How do I get messages and address book off my old computer from OE, win 95, and onto this otherwise slick new Dell? I did the transfer wizard but all I got was a big fat file on my zip drive that didn't transfer anything to the Dell.
thanks for any/all email saving answers!

I didn't realize Windows XP had a Transfer Wizard. I'll be interested to hear how well it works when you've finish the process.

Microsoft Knowledge Base Article Q306187, HOW TO: Use the Files and Settings Transfer Wizard with a Wizard Disk in Windows XP, says that after you create your transfer disk, you have to run the Wizard on the XP system again. Check the section entitled "Transfer the Files and Settings to the New Computer."

    Does this solve the riddle?

(I've had numerous run-ins with less-than-stellar Dell support, so I sympathize with you. Hopefully from here on out the PC will not need any support!)

Thanks, but unfortunately, no, that didn't work. I did the entire process yesterday and the wizard told me in a friendly way that it was all done, but no. Those emails never transferred into Outlook. Any other takers? <img src=/S/disappointed.gif border=0 alt=disappointed width=15 height=15>

Gotcha. I think the Wizard probably only takes you as far as getting the messages into Outlook Express on the new box. Did they make it that far?

There have been some discussions before about how best to get messages from Outlook Express into Outlook, but I've never done it and will defer to others.
