    windows 98 explorer

can someone help me?? I'm using a simple computer, stand(s) alone and working (sometimes) under windows 98. Now in my explorer, (where all the directories are shown) I want to secure a directory map (so someone else is not allowed to see the contents without entering a password) or to hide the map. Is that posible??? thanx in advance. Olaf.

    Hi Olaf

Yes...there are programs available on the internet that you can use to password protect, and/or hide, folders, files, or even drives.

Offhand I can't direct you to any, but if you do a search in Google, or some other search engine, for "folders security password hide", or some such combination of terms, you should turn up something. If I come across any in the next few days, I'll post them for you.

You also might have better luck if you post your question in the Software Finds and Wants category.

    Have a Great day!!!
