Re: Changing the properties of a dialog box (Office 2000)

The default behavior of the Open dialog box is to open with the first files showing, even if that means that dozens of subfolders that go before it can't be seen. In other words, my experience has been that the Open dialog boxes behave just as you want (rather than the way I would like). <img src=/S/grin.gif border=0 alt=grin width=15 height=15> If there are no files in the folder, it will open with a view of the first subfolder.

In addition, the dialog box opens with the cursor in the filename box. By typing a single letter, Word (& I thought all Office 2000 apps) will fill in the rest & pressing enter will filter the view to showing folders &/or files that start with that letter.

Thanks, Phil. That's a big help.
