    Excel Users Anonymous (Excel)

    Oh well, I guess it's time for me to fess up at Excel Users Anonymous.
    ----
    Hi, my name is Howard.

    My roots in programming are in statistics, econometrics and economics
    programming, having earned my keep in my early programming years writing
    general statistics and econometric software that was widely used, including
    a component of SPSS that was only released in the CDC version.

    I have been a reluctant user of Excel, tho I am deep into VBA and WordBasic
    using Word.
    Perhaps, I am trying to hide my roots.

    Whew, felt good getting that off of my chest!
    Maybe there's hope for me yet?

    I've done Excel VBA over the years by reading relevant portions of Excel VBA books.
    Just thought that it was time to read them cover the cover, a useful change of pace from reading VB. NET books.

    And I wanted to find out opinions on best books.
    Sadly, I chose to read Steve Roman's book first.
    I'll start reading John Walenbach's book this AM.
