Ebooks

What software is recommended for creating ebooks?
What is the security mechanism?

Re: Ebooks

Is there now a single standard for eBooks or are there still different formats that work on different devices? I guess if you're looking for a company with staying power, you should visit Adobe. But I'm sure there are competitors, as well there should be.

My concern is the security/payment issue.

Re: Ebooks

You did also ask what software is recommended for creating e books. I can't recommend any software, because I've never made an e book. But I recall the comments made by the author of the access tutorial site I've linked to, and I thought they might prove useful, even though they were made in 1996.

Considering the age of the site it is very well laid out, very cleverly done, and addresses many of the issues you might need to consider in making an e book.

Rupert, I think it's a cultural misunderstanding. You mistook Howard's inquiry to relate to the quality of his product, when he really just wanted to know what software to use to maximize his financial returns.

And we wonder why American capitalism has such a bad reputation around the world.

Also each publishing house will require the one they use or you will not get your book published by them.

Of course Howard will publish and sell his books on his own site. Then he will need a method of collecting the money before down load and that will be from another source.

Now running HP Pavilion a6528p, with Win7 64 Bit OS.

Howard,

You can find a list of recommended links concerning "Making Your Own Ebooks" at the following URL
http://www.bible-ebooks.com/links/index.html

There are links to making covers, compiling software, and free ebooks with tutorials.

Hope this helps.
