    Outlook (2000)

Several months ago, after I used Woody's Born Again! method to back up all components of Outlook (in my case from Office 2000), the Journal stopped automatically recording the documents I work on. I often use this info when billing clients by time spent on project, so having to manually create these journal entries is a pain. In Journal Options, all the boxes under Record files from are checked. In scanning the previous threads, I haven't noticed discussion of this sort of problem.

Does anyone know why automatic Journal recording has stopped?

Perhaps somewhere in a deep, hidden recess, the name of the old .PST file has been etched in stone. If you uncheck the applications, close and re-open Outlook and re-check them, does it reset Office's memory?

Bull's-eye! <img src=/S/basket.gif border=0 alt=basket width=58 height=52> I just tried what you recommended, opened a small Word document for some cosmetic editing, shut it and peeked into Journal. Lo and behold a pristine, single record for 9 minutes' work on the document had been entered automatically. Many thanks!
