Macro to toggle hidden text (Word 2000 SR 1)

    In the attached document, where the "no macro" button is [Click here...] it is hidden. I'd like the hidden to toggle off if it is selected and text typed in.

    Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

    Hi Leanne,

    I'm wondering why you formatted it as hidden in the first place?

    You could toggle the formatting of the macrobutton to "not hidden" with a macro that is run if you double-click on the macrobutton:

Sub NoMacro()
    Selection.Fields(1).Code.Font.Hidden = False
    End Sub

    There is no easy way to make the formatting change just if the macrobutton is selected, or text typed in its place.

    Re: Macro to toggle hidden text (Word 2000 SR 1)

    Hi Klaus:

    It is hidden because: it is a 5 page document, used by many, that if they want to click and type something, they can, but if they choose not to type anything, it should not show up when printed. I tried the macro but when double clicking on it, it gave me a syntax error.

    I thought about making it a "form field text box" instead, running the macro on entry but I couldn't get that to work either.

    Thanks,
