    hidiing tabs (Excel Xp)

    Hello all,

I need to know how to hide a worksheet...BUT when I unhide it, I need there to be a password BEFORE the user can see it. How do I do this???/ Basically, I cannot have the user see the worksheet unless they input the correct password.

    thanks

Hide the worksheet and then Protect the workbook. they will not even know there is a hidden sheet unless they unprotect the workbook with the password

I'm not sure, but even if you password protect the workbook, the hidden file can still be accessed. Just go to Format > Sheet > Unhide. So, I don't think this solution would provide what you need.

Are you sure you protected the WorkBook, rather than the WorkSheet? Steve is correct; when an unprotected worksheet is hidden in a protected WB, no "unhidable" sheets show in the Format, Sheet, menu.

Yep, sorry. I was protecting all sheets (through a macro I use), but not the workbook.
