VBA Word Mailmerge Printer Dialog Box? (XP VBA and Word 2002)

I am trying to use VBA code from Access to perform a Word Mailmerge. For a single copy of the document it works fine but in earlier versions the user was left at the Print dialog screen where they could choose to change printers, copies requested etc. Any idea how to get this dialog box to appear under XP?

    Thanks,

    HB

I presume you are merging directly to the printer rather than merging to a new document. If that's the case, try merging to a new document first and then do the print function as a Word VBA command and you should see the print dialog box.

Thanks for the quick reply. Yes I am merging to the printer. In the past (previous versions), as I said, the normal Print dialog box would show up. Now, under 2002, the print request shoots straight through to the printer. I can certainly try what you suggested about printing to a new doc and then sending it to the printer. The new functionality I'm seeing must be a new undocumented feature eh? <img src=/S/barf.gif border=0 alt=barf width=64 height=23>

Any other thoughts would still be appreciated.

Yeah, I'm not exactly in love with the redone MailMerge feature in Word 2002. We've had lots of fun trying to make things that did work cleanly behave in XP, and we are actually drifting away from using the mail merge feature and going with automation documents that are built on the fly. We put together some tips on Mail Merge in a WAW article last fall that you might also find useful. There is also an update in issue 3-21 that points you to Helen Feddema's web site where you can download sample databases. Hope this helps some.
