    Combining Data (Office XP)

    Hi,

In a table I have first name field and a surname field. I need to copy the first name and surname into a new field called full name i.e Bob (data in first name field) and Smith (data in surname field) becomes Bob Smith in the full name field. This isn't a problem in reports or mail merges, but I need to send the data to a user who needs the full name data field. I have tried an update query, but only get a -1 in the updated field.

Is there a simple way to do this? Thanks for any advice.

    Regards...Peter

Just spotted the query from Comsec and reply from Mark J which works perfectly in my situation as well.
    Thanks....Peter
