CD Audio Problem

I have a Dell PIII 866 w/128Mb RAM, Sound Blaster Audio card and Harmon/Kardon speakers, running Windows NT 4.0 SP 6. The problem is I have sound with Microsoft's normal sound schemes and can play the wav files in the media directory, but I can not get any sound from an audio CD. The CD is functioning properly, the audio drivers are loaded and functioning properly and the volume is turned up and no it is not muted. Any Ideas?????????

You have got your hard-wired audio link from CD to sound card fitted OK ? (I think some cards have two 'internal' inputs).

The internal wiring between the CD and the audio card is OK!

Grasping at straws now:

Control Panel/Multimedia:-
Does the CD player look like it features in all the right places?

Start/Programs/Accessories/Multimedia:-
Does the audio CD player have a manual start and/or do anything?

uninstall SP6 and stick with SP5, lots of sound problems with SP^

I'm not sure you CAN uninstall SP6, at least not successfully, in spite of the Uninstall folder. Besides, it may have sound problems, but it sure fixed my communications problems, so ther are trade-offs.
