    Lost Win 95 CD

I lost my WIndows 95 installation CD but I have my registration number and I'm registered with Microsoft. Any chance that I could get a replacement CD or where could I find free? I need to do a new install on a used computer so I took Win95 off my computer and upgraded to Win ME. I'm not trying to steal anything...
    Thanks

You could try contacting Microsoft Support via e-mail and providing your registration number and date of registration. I'm sure that you are aware that MS no longer supports Win 95 and thus may give you the cold shoulder.
You might also check online for a "used" copy for sale (can't be worth much these days). I'll run a Google search and post back.

    Re: Lost Win 95 CD

    Hello again.
A Google search for "Buy Windows 95" yielded this response http:// www.sell.com/26NV9 . They want $19.95 +$4 S&H for a never used OEM copy. I can't speak to the security or reliability of this situation. Your own good judgement will be your guide.
There was no information on Microsoft's site about Windows 95. I'd suggest you try contacting support and <img src=/S/crossfingers.gif border=0 alt=crossfingers width=17 height=16>. But if you have to end up buying something I would look to Windows 98 instead. Much superior OS and the hardware requirements are not all that different.
    Good luck.
