    design question (access 2002)

Hi, It has been a while since I have been working with databases: my question is thus, what is the best way to design a table/database that includes times for an event that usually happens twice a week, but some entries will have different days, sometimes it is divided by men and women, sometimes not. for example this is some of the data i have to capture.

event 8:00 pm and 10:00 pm monday and thursdays. (OR) event men: 8:00 women: 10:00 monday and thursday

    thanks a lot.

You would probably have to define the following fields:
    Day of Week
    Time of Day
    Men (Y/N)

This depends somewhat on whether or not you consider each occurrence as a unique event, or if you want to show the multiple times of a single event.

If each occurrence is a unique event, I'd use something like this:
    EventID (could be autonumber)
    Description
    Date/Time
Paricipants (allow to select: All, Men-only, Women-only)

If you to track multiple occurrences of an event, then you might have 2 tables. The Events table would be:
    EventID (could be autonumber)
    Description
Paricipants (allow to select: All, Men-only, Women-only)

And then the Occurrence table would be:
    EventID
    Date/Time
