    Criticial Update (Win98 / IE 5.50 SP2)

I have been pestered for the last month or so about a "critical update".
It is for Microsoft Internet Explorer 6 Service Pack 1 (Windows 98, Windows Me); however, I still have IE 5.5 installed.
Since I still am using IE 5.50.4807.2300, SP2 with 8 updates; what will happen if I down load this "Critical Update"?

You'll get IE, OE, and a bunch of other components updated to 6.0 SP1. MS always says the newest version of anything of theirs is the best, most secure, etc., etc. I believe that it is showing up as a critical update because of security patches. It has seemed to be stable at work for me on a Win98Se machine. However, as with all updates YMMV.
