Netscape Mail converting 4.7 to 6.2 (Netscape 6.2)

I have just upgraded my Netscape browser from Communicator 4.7 to Netscape 6.2. My ISP only started supporting this a few months ago. Everything, book marks, addresses, etc., converted okay, except the e-mail. When I go to the Import Utility, there is no option to import Netscape 4.7 e-mail, only ones from Outlook, Outlook Express and Eudora. Any insight that anyone can provide on how to do this, will be greatly appreciated. Thanks <img src=/S/smile.gif border=0 alt=smile width=15 height=15>

Re: Netscape Mail converting 4.7 to 6.2 (Netscape

Open up Windows Explorer and make sure you know where your NEW Netscape profile and mail files are located. Now find your OLD Netscape folders and you'll note that each mail "file" is really two files such as Inbox (no extension) and (which I think I remember was SNM). The files with NO extension after are the "real" mail files and I hope that if you COPY them to where your new Netscape mail files go, version 6.2 would open 'em up and then create its additional files to go along with the ones you copy. At least if you do it by COPYING, and it doesn't work, you can always get rid of them.

By the way, the extra files with the extensions are called "rules" files and contain stuff like sort order and so on. Netscape has always been will to re-create them, to my knowledge.
