'The Address List could not be displayed' Error (Outlook 2000)

Our office had a new server installed last night. We went from Windows NT to 2K. One of the workstations (XP) is not able to add any folders to the Outlook Address Book. It seems as thought the Outlook Address Book is not active. This is the error message we receive when clicking on the Address Book: "The address list could not be displayed. The Contact Folder associated with this address list could not be opened; it may have been moved or deleted, or you do not have permissions."
    Any suggestions?

    Pam,

Try opening up the Address book (even though it's blank) then click on Tools | Options and choose "Show this address book first". There may be several there to choose from. Click each one until your address book list shows up.

    Hope that helps.

I didn't explain myself well. When I try and open the Address Book I receive the above error message. I am not able to put any folders in it.

So, there is nothing at all in the "Show names from the..." pull down menu at all? You can't type in anything there, but there may be 3-4 pull down choices.
That error msg is normal if you have selected the wrong choice.
