    JavaScript window reloading

    Window1 is a maximized window; clicking a button opens window2, a smaller window;
    Clicking a button in window2 opens window3, another smaller window.

    In window3, I can close window2 with window.opener.close()

    But... how, in window3, do I force a reload of window1?

    Thanks,

    jjt

    Re: JavaScript window reloading

    Might need more error checking to handle missing windows, but you can start with:

    var w2 = window.opener;
    var w1 = (w2) ? w2.opener : null; // need to make sure you have a reference to second window
    function reloadW1() { if (w1) w1.location.reload(); }
    function closeW2() { w2.close(); }
