Opening DOC files in Explorer (IE5/SP2)

    Hi,

I have IE5 running on Win2000. On my PC when i click on a link to a word file it opens the file within my browser and does not start up word then open the document. Is there a registry setting that controls this? I'd like to be able to click on a link to a word document and have it open in word rather than have to right click and save it then open it.

I have checked my file associations and they are fine, can't see any obvious setting in Explorer though that affects how word or excel files open.

    Thanks in advance.

    George
