Can't find project or library (Word97 (NT))

    Hi

I have a document that contains a macro, but when it runs I get "Compile error. Can't find project or library. Are any references missing". The error is caused by a simple mid$() statement. If I remove it, the error doesn't occur. If I copy the line of code to a new document, I don't get the error.

How do you identify which reference is missing?

PS: KB Article Q244788 relevant isn't relevant.

    Thanks
    Dale

To find out about references: open the Visual Basic Editor (Alt+F11) and select Tools/References... The active references are checked. For Word 97, they are (usually):

    Visual Basic For Applications
    Microsoft Word 8.0 Object Library
    OLE Automation
    Microsoft Forms 2.0 Object Library
    Normal
    Microsoft Office 8.0 Object Library.

If any of these says MISSING, your Office installation may be damaged. If there is another checked reference saying MISSING, try unchecking it and see what happens.
