    Exporting a distribution list (Outlook2002/SR2)

I'm trying to export a distribution list to another user. The instructions say to open a new mail message and click file, export, item...only it doesn't give item in the list. How can I send this list? Thanks, Tammy <img src=/S/confused.gif border=0 alt=confused width=15 height=20>

    Hi Tammy,

If you want to send a contact or any other Outlook item to someone else, you just send it as an attachment. To do this:

    1. Open a new email message
    2. Find the Insert menu and select Item from that menu.
    3. Find the item (in this case a distribution list) you want to attach by selecting the folder in the top pane and the actual item in the lower pane.
    4. Finish the email as normal.

Perhaps you already solved your problem, but if not, I hope this helps.

I did finally get this to work, I found it confusing that you have to click on the attachment button not the insert menu. Thanks for your help. Tammy

    Good afternoon:

This works the same as in 2000 SR-1 (phew!). What I would like to know is if we run the attachment thing as noted below, and some of the persons are in the organization and some are not, will you get a list of addresses in some usable format on a machine that is running an older version of Outlook and is not in the organization's network?
