    opening files

Where I can tell my system what program to use to open a particular file. For example, when I double-click a .bmp or .jpg, I'd like Photoshop to open. Now that I've installed Fireworks MX, that has taken over opening whenever I open a pix. if I opened a pix file in e-mail, it would open in a brower window. Now that also opens in Fireworks.

    Thanks.

    Windows Explorer:
Tools > Folder Options > File Types
Find the extension you want to change and select the program you want to use.

    Alternatively:
Find and select (single-click) a .bmp file in Explorer.
Right-click and select Open with... (Possibly Shift+Right-click in W98)
    Select Choose Program....
Select the program you want to use and check the "Always use this program" option.
