    Criteria Pull Downs Boxes (Access 97/2000)

    Can you make pull downs in Criteria for Query, or Reports. I have it asking for a Part Number, but I want to pull a Part Number from a drop down box. That way we don

    Yes it is.

    Create your form with the combo on it, Open the Query for the report

    In the Criteria row of the field that you want the combo to filter on enter this:

    Forms![FormName]![ComboName]

    If you are running a report based on this query, you best bet is to put a button on the form that opens the report. Kind of like one stop shopping.

    If you have over 3000 part numbers, don't expect the combobox to be speedy. You might be better off having two comboboxes, one to select a category of parts and the other to display the list of part numbers for that category. That will let you break them into short enough lists so the performance won't suffer. Finding an item in a list of 3000+ is not something I would want to do on a regular basis.
