    Re: lost program (windows xp)

    Hi geecuevas--
There are third party programs like Undelete and Unerase Wizard in Norton System Works that will find deleted files that haven't yet been overwritten still on your hard drive whether the recycle bin has been emptied or not. If you don't have any, still do a search for these games. If nothing comes up, then I believe you can replace them by finding the correct file on your XP CD--putting it in and going to Windows Explorer, and looking for the file.
The games folder at Start>Programs>Games is probably on your Windows XP disc listed as simply Games. Take a look putting in your CD and opening it up in My Computer or Windows Explorer. . You may just be able to pull a Games folder with the 15 games back to your hard drive. The games folder, of course, is located in Programs and is a 16.3KB folder. I searched for it on my CD and can't come up with it, but that folder has to be there; I can find two read me folders titled games (Type IN_Files) that are ReadMe files in the I386 folder that are not what we need. Possibly someone knows how to locate it.

To get the games folder back: go to,
control panel,add/remove programs,add/remove windows components, accessories and utilities. Click details, games, and add some or all of the listed games. OK your way out and it may or may not ask for your XP CD to add them.
So far as pinball is concerned, I found that (pinball.exe) in two places on my machine.
    1-c:/windows/system32/dllcache
    2-c:/program files/windowsNT/pinball?
You can always drag and drop a shortcut from the games folder to these .exe files, to keep them in the same place.

Geecuevas--Try this--this should get back your 15 XP games.

    1) Insert the XP CD. Click on Install Optional Win Components.
    2) Games are found in Accessories and Utilities
    or....
    3) Go to your Control Panel>Add/Remove Programs>Add/Remove Windows Components and this should reinstall your games.
After I posted this I just saw Viking's helpful Shortcut info.

    Re: losing pinball

Are there any suggestions, please, to alter pinball - for instance, to get more balls per game? How about finding out in advance what the various missions require, or how to raise the bottom center post?

There is some info available by hitting F1, and I think you get the bottom post up by getting the ball up the hyperspace kickout (the curved chute going up to the top right) about four or five times.
