File upload (attachments) with Opera 6.x

I'm using Opera 6.x and having it identify itself as such. Opera can spoof other browsers like IE and NN. When I use Opera, I get a message about file uploads and requiring certain compatibility (...Netscape...) - you know the one.

So my question is: Has the file upload been tested with the latest versions of Opera, and does it work? I'd be glad to do some testing if necessary.

    Thanks.

Okay - I responding to myself. I did a quick check spoofing NN 4.78 in Opera, and the first issue I see is that Opera needs - I'll go out on a limb - "valid" elements with quoted attribute values. Since the file upload tag is written with unquoted attribute values, the parser is off. In the tag on the page, value= size=40 gets intepreted as value="size=40". A bug in Opera, but I think HTML DTD requires that attribute values be quoted - but who pays attention to DTDs and standards? Microsoft? Netscape? Anyone?

    Thanks Charlie, I'll look into it. In fact I thought I had it fixed, but, I broke (and now restored) the lounge instead <img src=/S/sad.gif border=0 alt=sad width=15 height=15> <img src=/S/thinks.gif border=0 alt=thinks width=15 height=15>
    Cheers, Claude.
