How to get IE6 to consult the Registry (6.0.2600.0000CO)

Can anyone tell me how (e.g., via a function call) to get IE to re-read its registry entries? In particular, I'm trying to change the state of "Always Use My Colors". If I merely set or clear the appropriate key in the Registry, nothing happens. One way to force the change to "take" is to invoke Tools | Internet Options and then press OK. I'd like a quicker, more automated way to do that. Thanks, in advance.

I don't know, but can you do this with Style Sheets?

Tools | Internet Options... | General tab | Accessibility... | User style sheet
