    Works conversion (Word 2000)

I'm feeling boxed in. <img src=/S/boxedin.gif border=0 alt=boxedin width=25 height=20> The story is old. I bought a computer. Loaded with Works 6.0. Not Word 2000. All my stuff is in Word 2000. The guy said it would work anyway. I tried it. It didn't.
Now I am left with coming to this forum, which I shouda come to in the first place.
Anyone have any workarounds to convert table and text, created in Works, to Word 2000? When I ask Word 2000 to open a simple document in Works that is a two-column simple table and text, Word 2000 crawls off into a corner and ralphs little messages back at me like "you promised me a steak, I get beef jerky. No way, pal." Something like that.
Anyway, none of the optional forms of text conversion on the Word 2000 include Works 6.0. Works 4.0 is the most recent and it won't recognize its own cousin, 6.0. Any ideas?

    Re: Works conversion (Word 2000)

    Hi Ron:
I've had no experience with Works, but found an article here that says if you use Works & save as RTF format, then Word can open them. If this is true, I would then save them as Word docs, which are much smaller. Please post back as to whether this works or not. You're not the first one to have this problem.
