Changing signon name?

OK, not really a big issue, but is it possible to change my signon name? I have had several people mention (complain?) that I use different names on different forum sites, and I would like to attempt to make them all the same.

I suspect this would take the forum moderator's permission and action to do this. Who should I contact, and should I bring my checkbook? Thanks.

After mailing me your signed checkbook, PM me with your new name
Cheers, Claude.

Thank you - both! Claude, I sent you a PM. Please ignore the typographical misuse of an article instead of a pronoun -- that I caught JUST as I hit the Send button... Love it.

For goodness sake! I was expecting your new name to have a least some recognisable similarity to your old one!
Could you not have changed your sign-on name in those 'other places' instead?
