IncludeText - Is there any select file (2000/XP)

When inserting the IncludeText field using the the Insert --> Field function, it appears you are required to type the path and file name directly into the filename box instead of selecting the the file from a list.
Is this the case or am I missing something? If any field needs a file select this would be it. (with the syntax requiring " " around the path & file name and // in the file name)

Alternatively does anyone know of any add in that might make this task easier. At the moment I'm entering the field using CTRL+F9 but I continue to make a lot of typing mistakes.

    Thanks

If you select Insert/File..., you get an Insert File dialog in which you can browse to the desired document. If you tick the "Link to File" check box, Word will insert an INCLUDETEXT field with the selected file name. If you enter a bookmark name in the "Range" box, this will be added to the field.
