Importing / exporting calendar file (2002)

<img src=/S/help.gif border=0 alt=help width=23 height=15> I thought I had the correct logic for sharing a calendar with my partner. My partner exported a calendar personal file folder and sent it to me via email as an attachment. I received the file, then imported it as a .pst file with the folder opened to receive it in. Something happened that I wasn't ready for -- I guess. I want my personal calendar to be intact and have a subfolder with business calendar. What happened is that I have one Calendar folder with the blended data from her personal and business info and my personal. There are a lot of duplicates -- and I don't want to see her personal stuff.

Now ..... I can't seem to get back to before I started my import. I do have a Palm that I could upload info into an empty calendar but I would lose many years of history, since my palm is only 1.5 years young.

Can anyone suggest a strategy to help me out of this predicament? I'm really in a pickle, here! Thanks in advance for any suggestions -- steps that I did incorrectly -- etc..

Ouch! You can delete all the items you imported, or create the sub-calendar and move them into that. The steps below should be pretty close. But next time, rather than import that persons calendar, just open the pst file.

1. Select your calendar
2. Change the view to active appointments (View | Current View...)
3 Get rid of the filter (View | Current View | Customize Current View), click the filter button
4. While in there, set the grouping to modified date. You'll have to set "Select available fields from" to Date/Time, then pick Modified from the field list in the top, left corner.
5. Click OK till you're out of the windows.

This will group together all the items you imported, or at least get them into a couple of groups. From here you can select them and do something with them. There could be a few of your meetings in here if you happend to do something in your calendar withing the same minute that you started the import.
