    PPT Object model (2000)

    Hello all,
I'm looking to run a PPT slide show from a VBA macro in Excel. I'm somewhat familiar with the Excel and Access object models and can get a few simple things to work, but I'm having trouble with PPT.

    I have
    - Added the reference to the PowerPoint 9.0 Object Library
    - Added code as follows:
    Dim appPowerPoint as PowerPoint.Application
    Set appPowerPoint = New PowerPoint.Application
The next line should open the presentation...

This should be a simple request, but I can't figure out how to open the presentation! Ideally, it would open the .PPS and show the first slide.

I won't bore you with what I've tried, but Intellisense is making no sense with me.

Obviously, elsewhere in the code I will close PowerPoint and set the reference to Nothing.

    Any help would be appreciated.
    Pat

Look at <post#=133574>post 133574</post#>, if it doesn't help, post back. HTH --Sam

    Most helpful!!
More than enough information to accomplish my task.

<img src=/S/stupidme.gif border=0 alt=stupidme width=30 height=30> The part I was missing was making the PowerPoint application visible before trying to open the presentation.

    Thanks a lot.

Not <img src=/S/stupidme.gif border=0 alt=stupidme width=30 height=30> <!t>[StupidMe]<!/t>, should be [StupidBill] <img src=/S/bash.gif border=0 alt=bash width=35 height=39>. Why didn't they make the default Visible? It has gotten all of us at one time or another. Glad it works now! --Sam
