Display Memo Text in Custom Doc Property (2000)

My custom doc property in my Word Template is only displaying 127 characters of the text I'm trying to send it. I found a KB Article Q211204 that says the fix is to load Service Pack 2. Our network managers will not load Service Pack 2 because of the email attachment procedures implemented in Service Pack 2. Can anyone tell me if there is a fix just for my problem that we could install without installing all of Service Pack 2
    Thanks in advance.

How about storing the text in a document variable or an autotext entry?

Word 2000 and 2002 allow storing autotext entries in a document (Word 97
only let you store the autotext in the attached template).
