    Legacy applications (Windows XP)

I have several older applications running on my Win ME system. I have been told that XP will not be tolerant of these applications. They are Business Cards, V 4.19 dated June 30, 1998, and Lotus Organizer 2.12a. Where can I find out if these applications will run?

I don't know who told you that they won't run but it seems to me that ANYTHING that's capable of executing on WinME will surely run under XP. And if there were to be a problem, I would think that you could always run them in "compatibility" mode. I don't have a link for you to somewhere on the Microsoft site but I'd bet that if you look around the XP site you'll find a list somewhere of incompatible software. Maybe someone else will jump in here, but given the unshiny reputation of ME I wouldn't bet against XP's capability!

I agree! I have several legacy apps running on XP. For example Calendar Creator 2.0 runs great and V9 is now out. I installed Ver 9 but was unable to import all my data - not XP's fault - just lousy legacy support from Broderbund. So I installed Ver 2 (from it's floppy install disks!) and copied over the data files and now I am printing my monthly calendars no problem.

The only compatibility issue I have had is with old hardware - not software.
