    Norton Antivirus Corp Edtn (7.6)

Has anyone else seen the strange behaviour of Norton Antivirus Corp Edtn v.7.6 with XP Home Edition. After a few weeks on a couple of brand new Compaqs with XP, the Norton Autoprotection turned itself off. Sure, you can try to turn it back on, but it won't do you any good. <img src=/S/igiveup.gif border=0 alt=igiveup width=31 height=23> I just got the new version of NAV CE 8.0 so I am going to try that and see if it will fix the problem but I am hesitant to get my hopes up. Has anyone else out there seen this?

We are running NAV 7.6 on WinXP Pro machines without any problems. Do you have unmanaged or managed installation of NAV? If later, check your NAV server settings. Also: I saw problems when computers have two (or more) network cards. If this is the case, check Symantec Knowledge Base.

Thanks for the info. I suspect I would have much fewer problems if we were using Pro but we are using Home Edition. We install NAV unamanaged and the PCs in question, only have one network card.
