Email Format Error

Speaking of private email messages...
I got my first notification of a private email message and both Netscape 6 Mail and the web-based mail provided by my web host provider has a problem with it. I didn't check, but I'm guessing it works on Outlook, otherwise you'd probably have noticed it by now. Here are the headers from the mail:
<hr><font color=blue>
Date: 1 Mar 2001 13:23:53 -0000
Message-ID: <20010301132353.22317.qmail@qbert.futurequest.ne t>
To: <ME>
From: LoungeAdmin <loungeadmin@wopr.com>
X-Mailer: Mailer::1.0 (http://www.gossamer-threads.com/scripts/)
Subject: You have new private messages
MIME-Version: 1.0
Content-Base: http://www.wopr.com
Content-Type:
Status: RO
</font color=blue><hr>

The problem went away when I manually changed the Content-Type line to look like:
<font color=blue>Content-Type: text/plain</font color=blue>

Note, I have no problems with the you-have-a-reply-to-your-post emails. Here is a sample header from one of those:
<hr><font color=blue>
Date: 1 Mar 2001 21:31:30 -0000
Message-ID: <20010301213130.16352.qmail@qbert.futurequest.ne t>
To: <ME>
From: LoungeAdmin <loungeadmin@wopr.com>
X-Mailer: Mailer::1.0 (http://www.gossamer-threads.com/scripts/)
Subject: Reply to your post
MIME-Version: 1.0
Content-Base: http://www.wopr.com
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=iso-8859-1
</font color=blue><hr>

This would tend to support my diagnosis of a problem with the Content-Type line. Also, if you're going to go mucking about in the code, you may want to make the X-Mailer line come after the Subject and Content lines so that it conforms with most email headers.

Cheers.

Re: Email Format Error

Good catch!!! That must have been broken for ages and nobody (including me) ever noticed.
It's fixed now.
I've moved the 'X-Mailer:' line up rather than down - it seems more logical up there.
