XP Operating System (Windows XP Home)

My system after running for about eight hours just dies. I can't even close the program. I click and nothing happens. It is just tired. I turn off the compouter and reboot and it comes back to life. My Mac friends tell me it is just the tired old Windows?

Your system may be in hibernation and needs time to wake up. Just hit the "Enter key" a couple of times and wait a few minutes. It takes time to restart the hard drive, monitor and any programs there were running. I would suggest that you turn OFF the hibernation and or any power savings settings, they were designed for laptops.

    Bob,

Select Start, Settings, Control Panel, Power Options. It does sound like everything's powered down for hibernation. Good luck!
