File folder in Outlook (Outlook 2002)

Is it possible to place a file folder on the outlook taskbar (to give access directly to the file contents within?) Is it possible to place this on the folder list? thank you for any help! -scott

    Scott,

In Outlook 2000, you just choose the Group (Outlook Shortcuts, My Shortcuts etc.) on the Outlook Bar.
Right-click, then choose Outlook Bar Shortcuts and pick the file you want on the bar.

Of course, Outlook 2002 may be completely different.

It is - as Cam says - the same as in 2000.
When you get to the "Add to Outlook Bar" window, just make sure to select "File System" from the Look in: field.

Sorry - I don't understand what you mean by "place a folder within the folder list".

    Scott,

Depending on which Group you're looking at, the folders should already be in the Folders List if they are in My Documents. Just click Other Shortcuts> My Documents and the list of folders should be visible in the Folders List.

Sorry about the confusion. within my outlook folder list I have an Inbox, contacts, calendar, etc. Is it possible to place a file folder (like my documents, etc.) somewhere within this list so it is viewable like the other outlook objects? thanks again.

Of course - THE folder list!
Not that I know of, I'm afraid. The folder list is a listing of your Personal Folders (.pst), which does not contain the file system folder. The Outlook Bar on the left is nothing more than a home for shortcuts, from either Outlook itself or your file system.

    Leif,
Thanks for clearing up the difference between the "real" Personal Folders List and the Outlook Bar shortcut to the file system folders, which just looks like a separate Folders List. <img src=/S/laugh.gif border=0 alt=laugh width=15 height=15>
