Word Perfect 7 to Word 2000 conversion problem

Curly quotes in documents done in Word Perfect 7 when converted to Word 2000 change to wp typographical fonts. When all text is selected and changed to times roman or Arial quotes then turn to A and @.

We even tried writing a macro that searches for wp typographical font and replacing with Arial font or times roman font and we get the same results.

Has anyone had this problem and have been able to correct it with some type of macro.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi!

In the Replace dialog while cursor is in Find What box, Click on More, Format, Font, WP Typographic and click OK

With your cursor in the Replace with box, click on Format / Style / Default Paragraph Font and OK

In the Search Options portion of the dialog, make certain Search is set to All (if it's says "Up" and you're at the top of the document you won't get anything replaced... same with "Down" if you're at the bottom).

You need to make the following replacements with Replace All:

A --> "
@ --> "
= --> '</center>

Question - When replacing the A to quote wouldn't that replace every A in the document to a quote

Nope. Only the ones with the font you've specified.
