no permission to print (win 98, word 97 sr1)

Yesterday my secretary was able to create, save, and print documents normally. Then a supplier took away an old hewlett packard fax-printer and installed separate Epson fax and printer peripherals. Now she cannot print any of her documents, new or modified, from Word: the error message says she does not have permission to print this document. That sounds like a mistake made in printer set-up. However, she can print normally from Notepad, etc. ! What have we done wrong?
    All help gratefully received!

1 - can you still print to a file instead of to the printer (use FilePrint and select Print to file)
2 - in toolsoptions check that you are picking up the "Use printer settings"
3 - when installing the printer did the administrator log back onto the pc as themself or the user
4 - check out the epson website helpdesk
