    Validation for a Parameter Query

I have created a paramater query which requires a user to enter a state. The query runs like its suppose to. I want a message box to pop up if the user enter anything else besides a correct state name. Now, if a user enter anything besides a state, they get a blank table. I don't want this table to pop up, I want the message box to pop up saying to enter a valid state name. *Note: In my table all states are in a list box.

Re: Validation for a Parameter Query

You can't really control queries very well, and the only way to stop them from coming up empty is to cancel them. Generally, you shouldn't have your users running queries directly anyhow. If you use forms and reports based on the queries, you can cancel their loads and pop up a messagebox letting the user know why.

How do I cancel their loads and pop up a messagebox letting the user know why.
