    InputBox (XL97:SR2)

    Is it possible to pass a "Special Format-Social Security Number" to an InputBox request.

    Example of Code:
    Sub Start()
    WhatUSee = Application.Inputbox("Enter Your Social Security Number")
    End Sub

    Upon the EndUser entering the 9 digit SS#(without slashes), the variable "WhatUSee" would return: 123/45/6789

    Try

    WhatUSee = Format(Application.InputBox("Enter Your Social Security Number"), "000/000/0000")

    Andrew,

    Your suggestion works with the formatting captured on the back end but does not appear as the End User enters the information in.

    I don't think it would be possible to do that using InputBox. You could do it using a Textbox on a UserForm, and some code in the textbox Change event routine. Or a UserForm with a SS No. control from one of the control vendors.
