O97 Files from Multiple Versions (Office 97)
Trying to install Office 97 SR-2, but error message says SR-2 patch can't be installed because there are files from multiple versions of Office 97 on my computer.
I have removed Office 97 and gone through the Registry to remove any reference to the directory the files were in, then re-installed Office 97. I have already run SR-1. How can there be files from multiple versions? How can I get around this to install SR-2?

Re: O97 Files from Multiple Versions (Office 97)
Check out http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?...;EN-US;Q254250&, for you can NOT completely remove Office 97 with out running the "Q176823 OFF97: Utility to Completely Remove Remaining Office 97 Files". You can NOT do this by editing the registry. <img src=/S/evilgrin.gif border=0 alt=evilgrin width=15 height=15>
Now running HP Pavilion a6528p, with Win7 64 Bit OS.
