    Windows 98 Display

The PC in question has been used 3 years with windows 98. Recently the display has become very faint. I took the moniter and placed it on another PC and it displays fine, indicating no problem with the monitor. I have checked and changed the resolution, colors, frequnecy but nothing seems to effect this. I am about to reload the drivers to try that, when someone mentioned I should put this question out to Woody's lounge. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Re: Windows 98 Display

If the monitor works, then the next suspect would be the video adapter. If it's built in to the board, you could add a new one and disable the onboard video in the BIOS, or if it's an existing AGP or PCI card, swap it out. You need to eliminate the possibility that the video adapter itself is failing, since you know that the monitor itself is working properly.
