Where are mail and contacts stored? (2000)

My computer crashed this week. As a result, I have loaded Win 98 to a different directory in order to get on the machine and back up my data, address books etc. before blowing the machine away and starting fresh. MY PROBLEM is that now that I'm back on, I can't find where Outlook 2000 stores all of its data?? I have installed Outlook in order to launch it, in the hopes that the data would be automatically directed to the new install, with no luck - it truely looks like a new install!!! I want to be able to get my old email and contacts in order to back them up. Does anyone know where these are stored and/or how I can get at them? Thank you in advance!!!

Do a search for files ending with the extension .pst and you'll find it.

I run a network of (just) 3 Pc's. Each one has their, own, HDD partioned into C and D. All programmes are on C and all data stored on D. This includes each .pst folder wich is kept in a directory called malibox_pc1 (or pc2 / pc3) that way if the Os goes down our respective Outlook folders are a) backed up nightly from that specific location and easily available. When in July we had to re-install, we only had to point Outlook to that dir to be up and running again fairly quickly. I hope that this tip helps...
