    Windows Update stored locally?

Is there any way of storing Critical Updates etc. locally? In other words, download them from MS to a central server (W2KS) and then have each node (W2KP) retrieve their updates from the server? Each node is similar in spec, if not completely identical.

Yes, of course. Go to Windows Update website (windowsupdate.microsoft.com), and on the left pane click "Personalize Windows Update" under "Other Options".
Then check "Display link to the Windows Update Catalog under 'See Also'" and click Save Settings button.
After that you can click the link to Windows Update Catalog and navigate and download the updates.
