    Auto Reboot (WinXP)

Still trying to get this new XP to work correctly. Whenever I put a CD in the drive the computer either goes to a BLANK screen or Reboots itself. When I get the blank screen, if I leave the CD in the drive and hit the reset button it seeems to boot OK and the CD operates as it should. Any suggestions most welcome. Thanx.

I had a similar problem. Mine rebooted. The way I know to boot from CD is to choose it on the first boot post. I am able to press F9 for instance and get a screen asking where I want to boot from.

Doc, Have you checked the physical connections on the CD drive? Is this a new PC or did you upgrade the OS? If you upgraded, did you make sure that XP drivers were available for the CD drive? Do you have Roxio's EZCD Creator installed? If so, what version?

Check and see how your BIOS is set up and what boot order it's useing.
