Page Member value-custom pagesize setup (XP)

I have an Access report I need to print on "statement" sized paper (5.5x8.5). I found out using help that this paper size has a page member value of 6. There's no place in page setup (print setup, etc) to enter a page member value, and access help and online help had nothing more to say about the subject.

In page setup in addition to the usual papersize suspects (letter, legal, etc.), there are several Ax's(where x=2 to 6). I played with using those but got nothing useful in terms of the papersize I need. I'm terrified it'll require some sort of SQL statement (I don't even do VBA) in order to set the page member to 6.

Does anybody know of a way (for a nonprogrammer) to set the papersize to 5.5x8.5? Right now, I'm exporting to word, but as new data arrives, etc., I have to reset all that page stuff in word, and I don't get some the pretty formatting I set up in access when the report is published to word.

Re: Page Member value-custom pagesize setup (XP)

    Hi Rachel,
I think you will need a print driver that actually allows that size of paper - I've not really messed with this aspect of Access XP, but a KB article on the MS site says that unless you have a print driver that supports the size of paper you are trying to use, it will crash access. And the only way you can set the PaperSize Member porperty in in VBA. You might consider trying to use the 8.5 by 11 driver in landscape mode and setting margins that lop of the right side and the bottom so it really prints as 5.5 by 8.5, but that will involve a fair bit of fiddling. Hopefully someone else will have more experience with this stuff.

Thanx, Wendell - I think I'll do that fiddling. I'm needing to print it on any size paper for camera ready copy to be printed on 5.5 x 8.5. I'll just do the top and left margins as I would in word and calculate right and bottom margins and cross my fingers! Since it requires VBA, I won't check into seeing what I can do with my print driver...
