Insert Folder Contents as Slides (2002 SP2)

I have a coworker with a folder full of scanned photos saved as jpgs. She wants to insert the contents of the folder into a presentation, automatically making each jpg a slide. Any way to do this? or any better software to do it?

    TIA

Should be able to make a slide show of each picture quite easily, how many pictures does she want on each slide and how many slides in the presentation does she prefer? Its really very easy in PPT.

There are about 300 photos. She's considering doing a collage on some, but initially wants one picture per slide.

We were looking at the photo gallery option under Insert/Picture as an option.

Yep, that will certainly work, does she want 300 slides though? Is it going to be a slideshow using the computer or is she wanting to use overheads or printed out copies? There are several options available in PPT, its a good program.

So what's exactly the sequence to enter the 300 files as slides?. All I could see was the option to import the "clips" to the gallery but nothing that actually enters the pics on each andevery individual slide.... (clip by clip on the same slide was the only visible option...).
    Thanks in advance... .

If you want to do this only on the 'puter that the 'jpgs are on, and you have XP, then just open the folder, open the first picture with "Windows Picture and Fax Viewer", and then select Slide Show!

NB: This does not create a Powerpoint presentation, but behaves like one!

Hi, as James asks, is your friend using XP? Because the file and fax viewer are indeed an option if the O/S is XP. It helps to know what she is actually creating, is it a presentation for a group of people that will be run from her computer to a screen or is it overhead slides she wants? Would be much easier to answer your question if you could find out the particulars. Which version of PPT does she have, what O/S, and the presentation itself.

Seek and ye shall find, although the links might break at any moment these days:

From Terry A. Austin, Temple, Texas

Did you know you could use PowerPoint version 2002 to create a photo album? Here's how:
    1.
On the Insert menu, point to Picture, and then click New Photo Album.

In the Photo Album dialog box, you can choose to add pictures from your hard disk or a peripheral device, such as a scanner or digital camera. To add a picture from a file or disk, do the following:

Under Insert picture from, click File/Disk.

Locate the folder or disk that contains the picture you want to add to your photo album, click the picture file, and then click Insert.

Repeat Step 2 for as many pictures as you want to add to your photo album. Or to capture them all at once, hold down the CTRL key, click each picture file you need, and then click Insert.

Next, specify the look of the album under Album Layout.

Then click Create.[/list]Editor's Note: If you want to change or update your photo album after you have created it, use the Format Photo Album dialog box from the Format menu.
