    MSVDM (XP Pro SP1)

I have installed XP and then MSVDM. If I open Excel 2000 in one of the screens and change to another screen, on returning, the menu bar and toolbars are missing from Excel. The title bar remains. If I change in and out of full screen mode the title bar disappears and returns but the menu bar and toolbars are still missing. This problem appears to also affect Access but does not occur with Word or Powerpoint.

    Any suggestions?

Microsoft discontinued MSVDM - it was buggy. Uninstall MSVDM and install a new version (deskman.exe) from Microsoft PowerToys for Windows XP

Deskman.exe is MSVDM. Just in case, I have uninstalled MSVDM, downloaded deskman again and reinstalled. However, it is still the same program with the same problem with Excel. Have you tried it with Excel? Does it work correctly for you?

    Thanks for your help

Have you read the help that comes with MSVDM?

It states "To prevent the movement of programs between desktops, turn off Shared Desktops. ", have you done so? If NOT give it a try.

Also, what programs are you running in the other screen(s)?

Now running HP Pavilion a6528p, with Win7 64 Bit OS.

Yes I have tried that. I already had stopped shared desktops. Excel stays in the desktop where opened but loses the toolbar and menu bars.
