I'm not sure I understand what you are asking. If it is the shortcut you want to change; right click it & select rename. Otherwise you need to be a little more specific.

You are talking about "Branding" IE.

    1) Back up your registry first. <img src=/S/smile.gif border=0 alt=smile width=15 height=15>
    2) Copy the following text into a new text file, name it "ie_branding.reg", and save it to your disk. To install it, just double-click on the saved file.

    ---------------------------------------

    REGEDIT4

    [HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareMicrosoftInternet ExplorerMain]
"Window Title"="***Desired Title Name Goes Here***"

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESoftwareMicrosoftInternet ExplorerMain]
"Window Title"="***Desired Title Name Goes Here***"

    ----------------------------------------

Where, ***Desired Title Name Goes Here*** is in quotes and is replaced by the title you desire.

    Hi John

Don't know if this is your problem, but it is a discrepancy......remove the s from "Windows Title" as per R2's script.

    Have a Great day!!!

Re: Name Change (IE 6 SP1)

Sorry, you must give the file a ".reg" ending. You can do that when you save the file -- by making sure "All Types" is checked.

However, since you already have the file, Right-click on it and select "Rename". Change the .txt extension to be .reg. Windows will complain, but hit OK. Now double-click the file.
